10 Benefits of beeswax wraps

If you are wondering why you might use Beeswax Food Wraps, then here are 10 reasons! From cutting down on plastic and food waste to wrapping bread in the freezer and even covering a bottle of wine. Beeswax wraps are not just a great sustainable alternative to clingfilm but they are also super handy!

1. Keeps Food Fresher for Longer

Beeswax wraps are breathable and keep your food fresher for longer. Plastic Cling Film or plastic bags are not breathable and can accelerate mould growth which you may have noticed when storing bread this way. With Beeswax wraps, you can enjoy fresh bread for up to 5 days.

You’ll really notice the difference when you wrap an avocado or lemon in a beeswax wrap as opposed to cling film too. The lemon will remain juicy up to 1 week and avocado will last up to 4 days. Our small wraps are ideal for these that come in our Variety Pack with a medium and large size wrap shown below.

2. Economical

As Beeswax Wraps can be washed and reused for up to 1 year, they are a really economic alternative to plastic cling film also. You save on buying up to 24 rolls of cling film a year!

Also, by covering your leftover meals with beeswax wraps so you are cutting down on food waste while saving money.

3. Antibacterial

Beeswax has natural antibacterial and antimicrobial properties like honey, which makes them ideal for use with food. Millbee’s Beeswax Wraps also contains Jojoba Oil which also has antibacterial qualities.

4. Sustainable & Compostable

An average family uses up to 24 rolls of plastic cling film a year so switching from plastic to Beeswax is a super way to reduce household waste while helping the planet. Beeswax Wraps can be reused for up to 1 year.

Beeswax Wraps are also compostable and can go into your compost bin to naturally break down.

5. Multi-Use

6. Easy to Use

Simply use your hands to mould the wraps around food or bowls to allow them to grip and hold.

Can these wraps be used on top of jams and preserves to seal them before putting the lids on?
